Abamectin Injection

Abamectin is a broad-spectrum antiparasitic indicated for the control and treatment of external and internal parasites in cattle, sheep, goats, camels and swine. A WOAH, CODEX and WVA Veterinary Medicine.

Abamectin injection is indicated for the treatment and control of a broad spectrum of parasites in cattle, sheep, goats, camels, and swine.

INDICATIONS

  • Gastrointestinal Roundworms, including nematodes, barber’s pole worm, stomach hair worm, intestinal hair worm, small intestinal worm, hookworm, and nodule worm.
  • Lungworms: Effectively controls both adult and immature stages of Dictyocaulus viviparus.
  • External Parasites (Ectoparasites): Treats these external infestations:
    • Lice: Sucking lice, such as Linognathus vituli.
    • Mites: Mange mites (Sarcoptes scabiei) in pigs and cattle mites.
    • Ticks: Aids in the control of cattle ticks (Boophilus microplus).
    • Grubs/Flies: Effective against cattle grubs/warbles (Hypoderma larvae) and nasal bots in sheep. 

ADMINISTRATION

  • Route: Subcutaneous injection is the only approved method.
  • Injection Site: Recommended sites include under the loose skin in front of or behind the shoulder, or high on the neck behind the ear.
  • Dosage: The appropriate dosage is determined by a veterinarian based on the animal species, body weight, and condition being treated. Accurate body weight measurement is important to avoid under- or over-dosing.
  • Equipment: Use sterile needles and syringes and follow aseptic procedures.
  • Dose Volume: For larger volumes, the dose may be divided and administered at two separate injection sites.
