Hemorrhagic Enteritis Virus (HEV) vaccine is the prevention of HEV infection in healthy turkeys.

INDICATIONS

• Target Species: Healthy turkeys.
• Target Disease: Hemorrhagic Enteritis (H.E.), a viral disease that typically affects young turkeys between 6 to 12 weeks of age.
• Health Status: The product is not recommended for use in unhealthy or diseased turkeys.
• Maternal Antibodies: Vaccination before 5 weeks of age may be less effective due to interference from maternal antibodies, potentially requiring revaccination.

ADMINISTRATION

• Route: The vaccine is administered orally via the drinking water.
• Age: Turkeys should be at least five weeks old at the time of vaccination. Vaccinating at a younger age may result in inadequate immunity due to maternal antibody interference, potentially requiring re-vaccination.
• Water Preparation:
  • Use only clean, cool water of good quality.
  • Any chlorine in the water should be neutralized, and the pH re-balanced to neutral.
  • The volume of water used should be an amount that the birds are expected to consume within approximately two hours.
• Vaccine Preparation:
  • Store the vaccine between +2°C and +8°C (35°F and 45°F) and protect it from light. Do not freeze.
  • Open the vaccine vial under the water in the preparation bucket/tank to ensure all the vaccine organisms are flushed out.
  • Mix the solution well to ensure a homogenous distribution of the vaccine.
• Administration:
  • Add the reconstituted vaccine solution to the prepared drinking water and mix energetically.
  • The vaccine solution should be made available to the turkeys immediately and consumed within a period of one to two hours.
