ENDOVAC’s Endovac-Dairy is a bacterin-toxoid vaccine indicated for the vaccination of healthy cattle to prevent clinical E. coli mastitis and other endotoxin-mediated diseases.
INDICATIONS
- Escherichia coli (E. coli): Primarily for the prevention of clinical coliform mastitis.
- Salmonella typhimurium: Protection against endotoxin-mediated diseases associated with Salmonella infections.
- Pasteurella multocida: Aids in preventing respiratory and endotoxic conditions caused by this pathogen.
- Mannheimia haemolytica: Protection against respiratory diseases, often related to shipping fever.
- Healthy Cattle: For general herd health maintenance against gram-negative pathogens.
- Pregnant Cows and Heifers: Safe for use in all trimesters of pregnancy. It is frequently recommended for administration during the dry period or the third trimester to enhance colostral antibodies.
- Lactating Cows: Safe for use during lactation with no milk withholding period required.
- Calves (Passive Immunity): When given to pregnant dams in late gestation (4–6 weeks prior to birth), it provides passively transferred immunity to help prevent scours and shipping fever in newborn calves.
ADMINISTRATION
- First Dose: 2 mL administered intramuscularly.
- Second Dose: 2 mL administered intramuscularly 2 to 3 weeks after the initial priming dose.
- Annual Booster: A single 2 mL booster dose is typically recommended annually to maintain protection.
Usage Guidelines for Dairy Herds
The vaccine is specifically formulated to be safe across different stages of production and is often integrated into dry-cow protocols:
- Target Timing: It is recommended for use in cows during the dry period and in heifers during the third trimester of pregnancy.
- Pregnancy and Lactation Safety: The vaccine is safe for use in all trimesters of pregnancy and in lactating dairy cows.
- Withdrawal Periods: There is no milk withholding time after administration.
