MSD’s RALGRO (Zeronal) is a cattle implant used to increase weight gain and improve feed efficiency in beef calves, growing cattle, feedlot steers and heifers. Active ingredient, zeranol, is an anabolic agent that stimulates the animal’s pituitary gland to produce more of its natural growth hormone (somatotropin).

INDICATIONS

• Increased Weight Gain: Implants can increase the weaning weight of suckling calves by an average of 23 pounds as compared with non-implanted calves.
• Improved Feed Efficiency: For growing and finishing cattle, Ralgro helps the animal convert feed into muscle (lean tissue) more efficiently, rather than fat.
• Versatility: Ralgro is non-sex-specific and can be used in steers, heifers, and suckling calves, including replacement heifers (with specific usage guidelines).
