Cyromazine is a feed additive and insect growth regulator used to control fly infestations in livestock breeding.
INDICATIONS
- Fly Larvae Control (Feed Additive): Indicated for use as a feed premix for poultry (broilers, layers, and breeders) to control the reproduction of housefly (Musca domestica) and stable fly (Stomoxys calcitrans) larvae in manure.
- Blowfly Strike Prevention (Topical): Used in sheep and lambs to prevent flystrike caused by blowflies such as Lucilia cuprina and Lucilia sericata. It can provide up to 8–13 weeks of protection when applied topically.
- Environmental Sanitation: Indicated for the treatment of animal housing, manure belts, bedding material, and organic waste sites (garbage or fertilizer heaps) to prevent the emergence of adult flies.
ADMINISTRATION
- Feed Premix (Poultry/Livestock):
- Mix the cyromazine powder (like Larvadex) directly into the animal’s feed at specific rates (e.g., 50g per tonne of feed).
- It passes through the animal undigested, treating the manure as it’s excreted, stopping fly larvae from developing.
- Wettable Powder Spray (Manure/Bedding):
- Mix the powder with water to form a sprayable solution.
- Apply uniformly over manure, litter, or soiled areas in poultry houses using a backpack or low-pressure sprayer.
- Avoid excessively wet or crusted manure.
