NAFCIVET-DC is an intramammary treatment used for the prevention of mastitis in cows.

INDICATIONS

  • Purpose: A triple-action intramammary treatment used for the treatment of mastitis in cows during their dry (non-lactating) period.
  • Active Ingredients: Each syringe contains a combination of three antibiotics:
    • Procaine Benzylpenicillin (300 mg)
    • Dihydrostreptomycin (100 mg)
    • Nafcillin (100 mg)

ADMINISTRATION

  • Prepare the Udder:
    • Milk the infected quarter(s) completely dry.
    • Wash the udder and teats with warm water and a suitable dairy antiseptic.
    • Dry thoroughly with individual paper towels.
    • Clean and disinfect the teat end and orifice with a provided alcohol swab (70% isopropyl alcohol) and let it dry.
  • Infuse the Medication:
    • Break off the tip of the syringe’s protective cap (for partial insertion) or remove the entire cap (for full insertion).
    • Carefully insert the syringe tip into the teat canal.
    • Gently and slowly squeeze the entire contents of the syringe into the quarter.
  • Post-Infusion:
    • Withdraw the syringe and gently massage the teat and udder to help distribute the medicine.
    • Repeat treatment as directed (e.g., every 12-24 hours for up to 3 doses).
    • Apply a teat dip to all teats after treatment for hygiene.
