Ceva Coglapix Vaccine

Ceva Coglapix vaccine protects weaned piglets against Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae (APP), the bacteria that causes pleuropneumonia in pigs. Used for active immunization to reduce mortality, clinical signs, and lesions associated with the disease. A WVA Veterinary Medicine.

Ceva Coglapix vaccine is indicated for swine (pigs) to prevent or control porcine contagious pleuropneumonia (PCP).

INDICATIONS

  • Target Species: Pigs (fattening pigs).
  • Disease Prevention: Active immunization against swine pleuropneumonia caused by A. pleuropneumoniae.
  • Efficacy: Reduces mortality, morbidity, clinical signs, and specific lung lesions associated with the disease.
  • Usage Context: Recommended for herds with a history of acute or chronic A. pleuropneumoniae infection.
  • Administration: Intramuscular injection in the neck.
  • Vaccination Protocol: Two doses of 2 mL, typically administered 3 weeks apart, starting from 7 weeks of age.
  • Onset of Immunity: 21 days following the second vaccination.
  • Duration of Immunity: Proven protection up to 16-24 weeks after the second vaccination.

ADMINISTRATION

  1. Method: Intramuscular (IM) injection.
  2. Site: Neck muscle.
  3. Dosage: 2 ml per animal.
  4. Schedule: Two injections, typically 3 weeks apart (e.g., at 7 and 10 weeks of age).
  5. Preparation: Shake well before and during use; ensure the vaccine is at room temperature (15-25°C) for 1-2 hours prior to administration.
  6. Withdrawal Period: Zero days.
