INDICATIONS
Prophylactic Vaccination: It is recommended for the active immunization of livestock (including cattle, buffaloes, sheep, and goats) against Anthrax.
Endemic Areas: The vaccine is primarily used in areas where Anthrax is endemic, typically administered before the monsoon season or one month before the grazing season to prevent outbreaks.
Mechanism: It is a live spore vaccine containing an attenuated, non-capsulated strain of Bacillus anthracis.
Target Population: It is administered to healthy animals, generally from 4 months of age.
ADMINISTRATION
Method: Subcutaneous injection (under the skin) in the neck region.
Dosage: Generally 2 ml for cattle, buffaloes, calves, and pigs; 1 ml for sheep and goats.
Timing: Annual vaccination is recommended, especially in endemic areas, typically 4–6 months after primary vaccination.
Storage: The vial should be kept cold until used.
Precautions: Only vaccinate healthy animals, use sterile needles/syringes, and shake well.
