AlviBac-MD Feed Additive

ALIVIRA AlviBac-MD (bacitracin methylene disalicylate, or BMD) is a veterinary-grade, antibiotic feed additive used in poultry and swine. A WOAH and WVA Veterinary Medicine.

ALIVIRA AlviBac-MD (BMD) is a veterinary-grade, antibiotic feed additive used to treat or prevent enteritis and improve performance in poultry and swine.

INDICATIONS

Indications for Poultry (Broilers & Replacement Chickens)
  • Prevention of Necrotic Enteritis: Used to prevent mortality and morbidity associated with Clostridium perfringens.
  • Treatment of Necrotic Enteritis: Used as an aid in the treatment of outbreaks of necrotic enteritis.
  • Early Mortality Reduction: Used to reduce early mortality in chicks due to chilled, reduced feed consumption, or other factors.
  • Growth Promotion: Used for increased rate of weight gain and improved feed efficiency.
  • Egg Production: Used in laying hens to increase egg production and improve feed efficiency during the first seven months of production.
Indications for Swine
  • Prevention of Clostridial Enteritis: Used in pregnant/lactating sows and gilts to prevent clostridial enteritis in suckling piglets caused by Clostridium spp..
  • Treatment of Bacterial Enteritis: Used as an aid in the treatment and prevention of bacterial enteritis (scours) in growing/finishing swine.
  • Swine Dysentery Control: Used to control swine dysentery (bloody scours) caused by Treponema hyodysenteriae.

ADMINISTRATION

Administration via Feed
For AlviBac-MD, the medication is mixed directly into the animal’s ration:
  • Mixing: It is often prepared as an intermediate premix before being added to the finished feed to ensure even distribution.
  • Duration: In some cases, such as for swine dysentery, it is fed continuously as the sole ration.
