INDICATIONS

for Dogs
    • Skin and Soft Tissue Infections: Treatment of infections including secondary superficial pyoderma, abscesses, and wounds.
    • Specific Bacteria: Effective against Staphylococcus pseudintermedius (formerly S. intermedius), Streptococcus canis (Group G), Escherichia coli, and Pasteurella multocida.
    • Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs): Associated with E. coli and Proteus spp.
    • Periodontal Infections: As an adjunctive treatment to surgical or mechanical therapy for severe gingival and periodontal tissue infections.
for Cats
  • Skin and Soft Tissue Infections: Treatment of abscesses and wounds.
  • Specific Bacteria: Effective against Pasteurella multocida, Fusobacterium spp., Bacteroides spp., Prevotella oralis, βbeta 𝛽-haemolytic Streptococci, and Staphylococcus pseudintermedius.
  • Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs): Associated with E. coli.

ADMINISTRATION

  • Route: Subcutaneous injection only. It is not approved for intravenous (IV) or intramuscular (IM) use.
  • Dosage: A single injection of 8 mg/kg body weight, which can be repeated 14 days later if necessary.
  • Procedure: Injected under the skin, often in the neck or along the back, to provide long-lasting, slow-release antibiotic treatment, eliminating the need for daily pills.
  • Storage: The reconstituted solution must be kept in the refrigerator.
