Intas CefPET (cefodoxime proxetil) is used to treat bacterial skin infections in dogs, including wounds and abscesses.

INDICATIONS

• Action: It is a broad-spectrum antibiotic effective against many Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
• Skin and Soft Tissue Infections (Dogs): Specifically approved for treating wounds and abscesses, as well as superficial pyoderma caused by susceptible bacteria.
• Urinary Tract Infections (Dogs/Cats – Often Off-Label): Used to treat bacterial infections of the bladder.
• Respiratory Infections (Dogs/Cats – Often Off-Label): Used for upper respiratory infections.
• Other Infections: Occasionally used for soft tissue infections in cats. 

ADMINISTRATION

• Method: The tablet is given by mouth. If the pet experiences digestive upset, administering the next dose with food or a small treat is recommended.
• Duration: The duration of treatment depends on the specific infection being treated and the veterinarian’s instructions, often continuing for a period after clinical signs have resolved.
• Missed Dose: If a dose is missed, it should be given as soon as remembered. However, if it is close to the time for the next scheduled dose, the missed dose should be skipped.
