Ceftiofur

Ceftiofur injection is indicated for the treatment of specific bacterial infections in cattle, swine, horses, dogs, lambs, day-old chicks, and day-old turkey poults.

INDICATIONS

In cattle, it treats Bovine Respiratory Disease (BRD), foot rot, and acute postpartum metritis caused by specific bacteria.
For swine, it is indicated for bacterial respiratory disease associated with certain pathogens.
In horses, it is used for respiratory infections caused by susceptible bacteria.
For dogs, ceftiofur is indicated for Canine Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs) associated with specific bacteria.
In lambs/sheep, it treats respiratory disease (pneumonia) caused by Mannheimia haemolytica and Pasteurella multocida.
For day-old chicks and turkey poults, it is used to control early mortality linked to susceptible E. coli.

ADMINISTRATION

Cattle: Used for bovine respiratory disease and foot rot, administered intramuscularly or subcutaneously. No milk or meat withdrawal is needed when used as directed.
Horses: Used for respiratory infections caused by Streptococcus zooepidemicus, administered intramuscularly.
Swine: Used for bacterial respiratory disease (pneumonia), administered intramuscularly. A withdrawal period is necessary before slaughter.
Dogs: Used for urinary tract infections, administered subcutaneously.
Sheep & Goats: Used for respiratory disease (pneumonia), administered intramuscularly. Sheep require a withdrawal period before slaughter.
Day-old Chicks/Turkey Poults: Used to control early mortality from E. coli, administered subcutaneously in the neck.
