INDICATIONS

Dry Period: It is designed for use during the dry cow period (often approximately 60 days) to provide long-acting protection.

    • Target Species: Cattle (specifically dry cows).
    • Primary Use: Treatment of subclinical mastitis immediately after the last milking of lactation.
    • Target Pathogens: It is effective against specific bacteria susceptible to its active ingredient, Cefalonium, including:
      • Staphylococcus aureus
      • Streptococcus agalactiae, S. dysgalactiae, and S. uberis
      • Trueperella pyogenes
      • Escherichia coli (E. coli) and Klebsiella species

ADMINISTRATION

Terrexine DC (Dry Cow) is administered to cattle as a single intramammary infusion into each teat quarter immediately after the last milking of the lactation. The teat must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected before inserting the syringe nozzle into the teat canal to apply the full dose.
Administration Steps:
  • Preparation: Thoroughly clean and disinfect the teat and surrounding area, ensuring it is dried.
  • Application: Twist off the cap (short or full nozzle option), insert the nozzle into the teat canal, and apply steady pressure to the plunger until the entire contents are delivered.
  • Post-Administration: Gently massage the teat upwards to aid in dispersing the antibiotic into the quarter.
  • Usage: Each intramammary syringe is meant for single-use only.
After administration, it is recommended to dip the teats in an antiseptic preparation to help prevent infection
