Clopidol Premix is used as an anticoccidial for preventing coccidiosis (a parasitic gut disease) in broiler chickens, chickens raised for laying (up to 16 weeks), and turkeys, targeting various Eimeria species.
INDICATIONS
- Prevention of Coccidiosis: Highly effective against major Eimeria species (E. tenella, E. necatrix, E. acervulina, E. maxima, E. brunetti, E. mitis, E. praecox) in chickens and turkeys.
- Improved Performance: Aids in increased weight gain and better feed efficiency in broilers.
- Control of Infectious Synovitis: In some formulations, it helps control Mycoplasma synoviae in broilers.
- Leucocytozoonosis: Helps manage Leucocytozoon smithi in turkeys.
ADMINISTRATION
- Mixing: Clopidol is a premix that must be thoroughly and evenly mixed into the complete feed ration before use.
- Feeding: The medicated feed is administered continuously as the sole ration to the birds.
- Dosage: The concentration typically ranges from 0.0125% to 0.025% clopidol in the finished feed, depending on the severity of exposure and management practices. A veterinarian or poultry pathologist should be consulted to determine the appropriate dosage.
- Target Species/Age:
- Chickens: Fed from the time chicks are placed in floor pens up to 16 weeks of age.
- Turkeys: Used for turkeys grown for meat purposes only.
