- Waterproofing bandages: The solution’s water-resistant properties allow it to be used as a treatment to waterproof bandages.
ADMINISTRATION
Topical Application (Hooves/Skin)
- For Hoof Problems (Thrush, Scratches, Footrot): Clean the affected hoof/area, remove dead tissue, then apply the solution directly with a brush, swab, or by squirting it on.
- Frequency: Usually applied daily until healed.
- Caution: Avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes, and feed; it can cause hair loss where it touches hair.
- Species: Used on horses, cattle, sheep, goats, and pigs, but not on cats, dogs, rabbits, or lactating animals.
Subcutaneous Injection (For Deficiency)
- Method: Inject subcutaneously, in the anterior (front) half of the neck.
- Dosage: Varies by animal; e.g., 2 mL for cattle over 4 months, potentially up to 4 mL for severe deficiency.
- Frequency: Can be repeated every few months (e.g., 4 months).
- Caution: Shake well first. Not for use with other copper supplements or treatments concurrently. Avoid in sick animals or calves under 4 months.
