HIPRAPOX Vaccine

HIPRA's HIPRAPOX (FPV) vaccine is used to prevent fowl pox (avian diphtheria) in chickens and turkeys. A live, attenuated vaccine containing the FPV92 strain. A WVA Veterinary Medicine.

Fowl Pox Virus (FPV) vaccine is indicated for the prevention of fowl pox in healthy chickens and turkeys.

INDICATIONS

  • Target Species: Chickens (Broilers, Layers, Breeders) and Turkeys.
  • Disease Prevention: To prevent Fowl Pox – wart-like lesions (dry pox) or fibrinous lesions in the mouth/trachea (wet pox).
  • Immunity: Stimulates active immunity to protect against infection and disease. 

ADMINISTRATION

The vaccine is administered by the wing-web method for chickens, or by follicular scarification (thigh-stab) for turkeys. 

  • Methods: Wing web puncture (chickens) or follicular scarification (turkeys).
  • Timing:
    • Broilers: From 1 day old.
    • Layers/Breeders: Between 8 and 12 weeks of age (or earlier in high-risk areas, with revaccination before laying).
    • Turkeys: From 1 day old.
