Ivermectin & Levamisole

Ivermectin and Levamisole is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic used in the control of internal and external parasitic infections in livestock.

Internal Parasites (Nematodes)

Gastrointestinal roundworms: Effective against both adult and immature stages of a wide range of stomach and intestinal worms, including Haemonchus, Trichostrongylus, Ostertagia (small brown stomach worm), Cooperia, Nematodirus, Bunostomum, Oesophagostomum (nodular worms), Chabertia, Ascaris suum (large roundworms), and Strongyloides ransomi (intestinal threadworms).
Lungworms: Controls Dictyocaulus spp. (e.g., Dictyocaulus filaria) and Metastrongylus spp. in the lungs.
Eye worms.

External Parasites (Arthropods)

Mites: Treatment and control of sarcoptic (Sarcoptes scabiei) and psoroptic (Psoroptes spp.) mange mites.
Lice: Effective against sucking lice.
Grubs/Warbles: Controls warble fly larvae (Hypoderma spp.).

Direct Oral Administration (Drenching): For individual animals, the solution is typically measured using an oral dosing syringe. The syringe is inserted into the side of the animal’s mouth, in the cheek pocket, and the medication is dispensed slowly to ensure the animal swallows it. This method is often used for companion animals like dogs and cats, or for precise dosing in livestock.
Mass Administration (Mixing with Water or Feed): For a large number of livestock (e.g., poultry, pigs, sheep, and cattle), the solution may be diluted into a specific quantity of drinking water or mixed into feed. This ensures that all animals in a group receive treatment, provided they consume the medicated water or feed over a specified period (e.g., 3-5 days).
