Metaxol (trimethoprim & sulfamethoxazole) is used in pigs and chickens to treat and prevent bacterial infections Specifically, it is used to address post-weaning diarrhea in fattening pigs caused by E. coli strains, colibacillosis and coryza in broilers. Can also be used to treat secondary bacterial infections in pigs.
