CEVAC MG-F Vaccine

Ceva Santé Animale's CEVAC MG-F is a live, attenuated vaccine used for the active immunization of chickens to protect them against Mycoplasma gallisepticum (MG). A WVA Veterinary Medicine.

Mycoplasma gallisepticum (MG) vaccine is indicated for healthy chicken to prevent Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD).

INDICATIONS

  • Respiratory Disease: Protects against CRD, the most common upper respiratory infection in chickens caused by MG.
  • Clinical Signs: Prevents symptoms like rales, coughing, nasal/ocular discharge, and labored breathing.
  • Minimize Production Losses: Aids in preventing weight loss and decreases egg transmission, crucial for layer flocks.
  • To protect Layers/Breeders: Vaccination is recommended before the laying period to minimize impact during production.

ADMINISTRATION

  • Ocular/Intranasal: The vaccine is reconstituted with a specific diluent, and one drop is applied to the eye or nostril of each bird. The bird’s head should be tilted to one side, ensuring the vaccine spreads over the eye before being released.
  • Coarse Spray Vaccination: This method involves diluting the vaccine in cool, clean, non-chlorinated water and applying it as a coarse spray (40 to 50 microns droplet size) over the birds in a closed house environment.
  • Dosage: One dose per animal is required, regardless of the administration method.
  • Timing: The vaccine is typically administered to birds between 8 and 16 weeks of age.
  • Program: On farms with a high risk of Mycoplasma gallisepticum infestation, a two-step vaccination may be recommended: a priming dose between 6 and 10 weeks of age, followed by a booster dose between 12 and 16 weeks of age, with at least a two-week interval.
