Orbifloxacin

Orbifloxacin is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections in dogs and cats.

DOGS

Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs): Specifically for treating cystitis.
Skin and Soft Tissue Infections: Including wounds and abscesses.
Target Bacteria: Commonly used against susceptible strains of Staphylococcus pseudintermedius, Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis, Enterococcus faecalis, and Pseudomonas spp..

CATS

Skin Infections: Treatment of wounds and abscesses caused by susceptible bacteria.
Target Bacteria: Specifically against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Pasteurella multocida.

Shake well before each use to ensure proper medication distribution.
Measure carefully using the calibrated dosing syringe provided. Insert the syringe tip firmly into the bottle adapter, invert the bottle, withdraw the correct dose, return the bottle upright, and remove the syringe.
Administer orally, generally on an empty stomach for best absorption. If your pet experiences nausea or vomiting, you may give it with a small amount of non-dairy food, but consult your veterinarian if vomiting continues.
Avoid certain products: Do not administer with dairy products (like cheese), antacids, or multivitamins containing calcium, iron, aluminum, or zinc, as these can significantly reduce the medication’s absorption.
Complete the full course: It is crucial to finish the entire prescribed treatment duration, even if your pet seems better, to prevent the infection from returning and to avoid antibiotic resistance.
Rinse the syringe with water after each use and replace the bottle cap.
