PHENOXYPEN WSP powder is a penicillin antibiotic indicated for the prevention of mortality from necrotic enteritis in chickens.

INDICATIONS

• Target Species: Chickens.
• Primary Indication: Control and prevention of clinical necrotic enteritis outbreaks, especially when associated with Clostridium perfringens A and C.
• Mode of Action: Bactericidal against gram-positive bacteria.
• Administration: Oral administration, dissolved in drinking water.
• Treatment Duration: Typically 5 days, with recommended dosages of 13.5 – 20 mg phenoxymethylpenicillin per kg of body weight.

ADMINISTRATION

• Method: Dissolve the powder in drinking water.
• Duration: Typically administered for 5 consecutive days.
• Stability: Medicated water must be used within 12 hours of preparation; any remaining solution should be replaced after this period.
• Solubility: The maximum solubility is 250 grams of product per liter of water.
• Access: No other source of drinking water should be available to the animals during the treatment period to ensure they consume the medicated water.
