Piperazine Hexahydrate Liquid

Piperazine Hexahydrate liquid is an anthelmintic (dewormer) used to treat roundworm infections in poultry, livestock, and pets. Administered orally, often by mixing the liquid into the animal's drinking water or feed. The worms are paralyzed, and naturally expelled from the body. 

Piperazine hexahydrate liquid is a narrow-spectrum anthelmintic used to treat gastrointestinal parasitic infections in poultry and livestock.

INDICATIONS

  • Poultry (Chickens & Turkeys): Treatment of large roundworms (Ascaridia galli) and suspected Capillaria species.
  • Cattle & Buffalo: Effective against large roundworms (Toxocara vitulorum), particularly in calves.
  • Swine (Pigs): Removal of large roundworms (Ascaris suum) and nodular worms (Oesophagostomum species).
  • Horses: Removal of large roundworms (Parascaris equorum), pinworms (Oxyuris equi), and certain strongyles (Strongylus vulgaris).
  • Dogs & Cats: Treatment of roundworms (Toxocara and Toxascaris species).
  • Sheep & Goats: Removal of various roundworm species. 

ADMINISTRATION

  • In Drinking Water (Flock/Herd Treatment): A a common and easy method for treating groups of animals like poultry, pigs, sheep, goats, and cattle. The appropriate dosage of the liquid is mixed into the amount of water the animals are expected to drink in a single day, or within a few hours, to ensure all animals receive the correct dose. It is often recommended to withhold plain water until the medicated water is consumed.
  • Mixed in Food: The liquid can be mixed into wet mash or a small portion of tasty dry or liquid food (e.g., milk). This method is suitable for individual pets like dogs and cats, or for swine.
  • Individual Oral Drench/Syringe: For individual dosing of larger animals like horses or livestock, the liquid can be administered directly into the mouth using a dose syringe. For pets, it can be gently syrined into the side of the mouth, aiming for the back of the tongue, if they refuse medicated food.
