EAZI-BREED CIDR inserts are indicated for controlling the estrous cycle and enhancing reproductive management in cattle, sheep. and goats.
INDICATIONS
In Cattle (Cows and Heifers)
- Synchronization of estrus: To bring groups of animals into heat within a narrow window for timed artificial insemination (AI) or natural breeding.
- Induction of estrous cycles: To initiate cycling activity in cows that are in anestrus (not cycling) postpartum or due to poor condition.
- Advancement of first postpartum estrus in suckled beef cows.
- Advancement of first pubertal estrus in replacement beef or dairy heifers.
- Synchronization of donor and recipient animals for embryo transfer programs.
- Shortening the interval from first insemination to conception in lactating dairy cows.
In Sheep (Ewes) and Goats (Does)
- Induction and synchronization of estrus: This is particularly useful for out-of-season breeding (during seasonal anestrus).
- Advancing the breeding season.
- Ovulation control in does for AI and embryo programs.
ADMINISTRATION
- Dip the device applicator in a non-irritating antiseptic solution.
- Place one device into the applicator so that the short legs are folded together with only the tip protruding.
- Dip the tip of the loaded applicator into a suitable veterinary obstetrical lubricant.
- Wipe the vulva lips with a disposable tissue.
- Insert the loaded applicator, sloping slightly upwards, through the vulva and then forward, without forcing, into the forward portion of the vagina.
- Release the device by depressing the applicator plunger, leaving the cord protruding from the vulva.
- Repeat steps for each device to be inserted.
- Removal : Withdraw the device by pulling on the removal cord
