Sodium Salicylate

Sodium salicylate oral concentrate is indicated for its analgesic, antipyretic, and anti-inflammatory properties in specific livestock species.

Calves: It is used as a supportive treatment for pyrexia (fever) associated with acute respiratory disease. It must be used in combination with appropriate anti-infective (antibiotic) therapy when necessary.
Pigs (Swine): It is indicated for the treatment of inflammation and to aid in reducing pain and fever. Use in pigs is typically in combination with concurrent antibiotic therapy.
Poultry (Chickens, etc.): It is used in drinking water to aid in reducing pain, fever, and inflammation. This can include conditions caused by viral and bacterial infections or heat stress from transport.

Livestock Tanks: May be mixed directly into the total volume of drinking water in the livestock tank daily.
Water Proportioners/Medication Meters: The concentrate is first diluted to create a stock solution, which is then administered via a medicator (e.g., metered at 1:128) into the flowing drinking water system.
Milk Replacer: For calves, the product can be mixed into their milk replacer.
Pulse Medication (Alternative): Some products can be administered as “pulse medication,” where half the daily dose is mixed into a smaller amount of water that will be consumed within 3-4 hours, and this is done twice daily.
