Sulfamethoxine soluble powder is a sulfonamide antibiotic used to treat bacterial and protozoal infections in livestock and pets.
INDICATIONS
Cattle (Dairy Calves, Dairy Heifers, and Beef Cattle)
- Shipping Fever Complex & Bacterial Pneumonia: Treatment of infections associated with Pasteurella spp. sensitive to sulfadimethoxine.
- Calf Diphtheria & Foot Rot: Treatment of infections associated with Sphaerophorus necrophorus (also known as Fusobacterium necrophorum) sensitive to sulfadimethoxine.
Chickens (Broiler and Replacement Only)
- Coccidiosis: Treatment of disease outbreaks.
- Fowl Cholera: Treatment of disease outbreaks.
- Infectious Coryza: Treatment of disease outbreaks.
Turkeys
- Coccidiosis: Treatment of disease outbreaks.
- Fowl Cholera: Treatment of disease outbreaks.
ADMINISTRATION
- Cattle (Dairy Calves, Dairy Heifers, Beef Cattle):
- Dosage: Administer 25 mg/lb on the first day, followed by 12.5 mg/lb/day for 4 consecutive days.
- Preparation: Create a stock solution by adding one packet of powder to 1 gallon of water.
- Drench: For individual treatment, the stock solution can be given as a drench.
- Note: Ensure adequate water intake during treatment.
- Chickens (Broiler and Replacement only):
- Dosage: Use for 6 consecutive days for diseases like coccidiosis, fowl cholera, and infectious coryza.
- Preparation: Mix 1 packet to 50 gallons of water.
- Automatic Proportioners: Mix 5 packets into 2 gallons of water, setting the proportioner to feed at 1 fl oz of stock solution per gallon of water.
- Turkeys:
- Dosage: Use for 6 consecutive days for coccidiosis and fowl cholera.
- Preparation: Mix 1 packet to 100 gallons of water.
- Automatic Proportioners: Mix 5 packets into 4 gallons of water, setting the proportioner to feed at 1 fl oz of stock solution per gallon of water.
