ADMINISTRATION

• Shake well: The suspension must be shaken vigorously before each use to ensure the medication is evenly mixed.
• Measure the dose: Use an oral syringe to accurately measure dose. For bottles with a draw-off cap, the syringe can often be inserted directly into the cap opening to draw the liquid (with the bottle inverted).
• Administer orally:
  • Directly into the mouth: Place the syringe nozzle into the corner of the animal’s mouth (or the interdental space for large animals like horses) and slowly squirt the medication onto the back of the tongue.
  • Ensure swallowing: Go slowly and allow the animal to swallow during administration. Elevating the head slightly for a few seconds immediately after administration can help ensure the entire dose is swallowed.
• With or without food: The medication can typically be given with or without food. If the animal experiences vomiting or sickness on an empty stomach, the next dose can be given with a meal.
• Provide water: Ensure the animal has free access to plenty of water, as they must not become dehydrated while on this medication.
• Do not miss doses: To ensure the medication works effectively, follow the instructions carefully, and complete the full course of treatment, even if the animal’s symptoms improve.
