    • Hydration: Always ensure the animal has free access to plenty of fresh water to prevent dehydration and reduce the risk of crystal formation in the urine.
    • Consistency: Administer the medication at the same time(s) each day to maintain steady levels in the bloodstream.
    • Completion: Complete the entire prescribed course, even if the animal appears to have recovered, to prevent relapse.
    Species
    • Dogs and Cats:
      • Pilling: Place the tablet at the back of the tongue and hold the mouth closed until swallowed.
      • Food Disguise: Tablets can be hidden in a small amount of strongly flavored food or treats.
      • Crushing: Tablets are typically scored and can be split or crushed into food if needed.
    • Horses:
      • Direct Ingestion: Some horses may eat the tablets when mixed with grain.
