INDICATIONS

  • Vitamin B1 Deficiency: Used to treat thiamine (Vitamin B1) deficiency, which can cause neurological symptoms like star-gazing, incoordination, or seizures.
  • Nervine Disorders: Indicated for the management of various nerve-related conditions, providing support for healthy nerve function.
  • Convalescence and Debility: Often used as a supportive therapy for animals recovering from illness, surgery, or general weakness.
  • Adjunct Therapy: Can be used alongside antibiotic or anthelmintic treatments to help maintain the animal’s strength and metabolic health during recovery.

ADMINISTRATION

  • Intravenous (IV) Injection: Administered directly into the vein, often in the tail, leg, or jugular vein, typically at a slow rate. This is preferred for rapid absorption.
  • Intramuscular (IM) Injection: Administered into a large muscle mass, such as the hind thigh (caudal thigh muscle) or lumbar muscles, ensuring the needle is inserted deeply into the muscle.
  • Procedure:
    • Preparation: Clean the injection site with alcohol.
    • Injection: Insert the needle securely into the vein (IV) or muscle (IM).
    • Aspiration: Pull back on the syringe plunger slightly to ensure no blood is drawn into the syringe for IM injections, ensuring it is not in a blood vessel.
    • Delivery: Depress the plunger slowly and steadily.
