Trimethoprim + Sulfonamide oral powder is a broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial and some protozoal infections in dogs, cats, calves, sheep, goats, poultry and swine. The two drugs work synergistically to inhibit bacterial folic acid synthesis, a critical process for bacterial survival. For pre-ruminant calves, lambs and kids only.
INDICATIONS
- Urinary tract infections
- Skin and soft tissue infections, including Staphylococcus infections
- Respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia and kennel cough (Bordetella bronchiseptica)
- Prostate infections (prostatitis)
- Ear infections (otitis externa/media)
- Certain parasitic infections, including coccidiosis and toxoplasmosis
- Wounds and post-operative infections (especially after debridement of necrotic tissue)
Each gram contains :
- Trimethoprim B.P 80 mg
- Sulfonamide B.P 400 mg
- Calves, Goats and Sheep : Twice daily, 5 g per 100 kg body weight for 4 – 7 days.
- Poultry and Swine : 1 kg per 1500 – 2500 litres of drinking water for 4 – 7 days..
