Virginiamycin Feed Premix

Virginiamycin Feed Premix is used in swine, poultry and cattle to treat infections, control swine dysentery, and prevent necrotic enteritis in chickens. Improves feed efficiency and weight gain, making it a key tool for intensive farming. A WOAH Veterinary Medicine.
 

Virginiamycin feed premix is indicated for specific bacterial diseases in swine, broiler chickens, and cattle.

INDICATIONS

  • Broiler Chickens: Used for the prevention of necrotic enteritis caused by the bacterium Clostridium perfringens.
  • Swine (Pigs): Used for the treatment and control of swine dysentery.
  • Cattle (fed in confinement): Used for the reduction of the incidence of liver abscesses, which are common in cattle on high-grain diets. 
  • Horses: May be used to treat laminitis. 

ADMINISTRATION

  • Intermediate Blending (Required): The premix should first be mixed with a portion of feed ingredients to create an intermediate mix.
  • Final Mixing: This intermediate blend is then mixed into the final “Type C” medicated feed to achieve the intended concentration.
  • Continuous Feeding: The medicated feed is typically offered as the sole ration for a specified duration to ensure consistent intake.
  • Top-Dressing (Alternative): May be spread directly on top of the usual daily ration.
  • Dosage: For cattle in confinement, mix 0.04 kg of V-Max 500 premix per 1,000 kg of complete feed. Feed continuously for up to 75 days.
