Amoxicillin oral powder is indicated for a wide range of common bacterial infections in susceptible animals, including respiratory tract, urinary tract, gastrointestinal tract, skin, and soft tissue infections.
INDICATIONS
- Respiratory Tract Infections: Tonsillitis, tracheobronchitis, and other upper and lower respiratory issues.
- Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs): Infections of the bladder (cystitis).
- Skin and Soft Tissue Infections: Abscesses, bacterial dermatitis, lacerations, and wounds.
- Gastrointestinal Tract Infections: Bacterial gastroenteritis.
- Dental Infections.
- Bone Infections.
ADMINISTRATION
The powder is typically supplied as a dry formulation that needs to be reconstituted (mixed) with a specific amount of water.
- For large animals (swine, chickens, calves): It is often dissolved in the animals’ drinking water to facilitate mass treatment.
- For companion animals (dogs, cats): It is mixed into an oral suspension (liquid) and measured with a dosing dropper or syringe to be given by mouth. It can be given with or without food, though giving it with a meal may help prevent stomach upset.
