Salmonella Vaccine

Salmonella vaccine is indicated for the active immunization of livestock and poultry against salmonellosis.

Poultry (Chickens & Turkeys): Used to prevent Salmonella Enteritidis and S. Typhimurium colonization in the intestinal tract and ovaries to reduce egg contamination.
Cattle: Indicated to prevent outbreaks, abortions in pregnant cows, and to provide passive immunity to calves through colostrum.
Swine: Indicated for healthy pigs at least 2 weeks old to reduce the risk of diseases caused by S. Choleraesuis and S. Typhimurium.
Horses: Used in mares and foals as an aid in controlling diseases caused by S. Typhimurium.
Sheep: Applied as a preventative measure to reduce stock losses and, in some cases, to protect against Salmonella Brandenburg-induced abortions.

Vaccinate only healthy birds.
Use sterile syringes and needles for each injection.
Not for use in birds that are currently in lay
Route: Intramuscular injection, typically into the breast or thigh muscle.
Dose: Each dose is 0.5 ml for chickens from 6 weeks of age.
Schedule: A primary course consists of two vaccinations at least 4 weeks apart.
Timing: The second vaccination must be given no later than three weeks before the onset of lay.
Preparation: The vaccine bottle must be shaken well before use to ensure a homogeneous suspension.
