Salmonella Enteritidis Vaccine

KEMIN POULMMUNE SALMONELLA BCD vaccine is an inactivated, tetravalent vaccine designed for the active immunization of chickens against Salmonella Enteritidis.
INDICATIONS
- Salmonella Enteritidis (D): Reduces intestinal colonization and faecal excretion.
- Disease Prevention: Reduces intestinal colonization and systemic dissemination of the target Salmonella strains.
- Food Safety: Minimizes fecal shedding and egg shell contamination, which helps prevent Salmonella from entering the human food chain.
- Transgenerational Protection: Provides protection for progeny (offspring) during their first days of life through maternal immunity.
ADMINISTRATION
- Subcutaneous (SC) Injection: Apply in the lower part of the neck. The needle should be inserted just under the skin, pointed away from the head and in a straight line with the neck.
- Intramuscular (IM) Injection: Apply into the chest (breast) muscles. The needle should be inserted at a 45° angle to avoid accidental intraperitoneal injection.
Vaccination Schedule
- Initial Vaccination: Birds can be vaccinated starting from 2 weeks of age.
- Boosters: For breeder and layer birds, at least two vaccinations are required with a 6-week interval between them.
- Veterinary Guidance: Specific programs should be tailored by a poultry veterinarian based on local epidemiological conditions.
Preparation & Handling
- Mixing: The vaccine must be shaken vigorously before and during use to ensure proper emulsification, as it may separate into layers during storage.
- Equipment: Only sterile injection equipment should be used.
