Oxytetracycline & Gentian Violet Spray

Gentian Violet spray is an antiseptic used for minor cuts, abrasions, and fungal infections on animals. It should be applied to a clean, dry wound after removing any scales or scabs, typically once or twice a day. Not recommended for use on cats, or food-producing animals. An FAO/WHO Veterinary Medicine.

Oxytetracycline & Gentian Violet spray is indicated for the topical treatment of bacterial and fungal skin infections in livestock and pets.

INDICATIONS

  • Wound Care: Treatment of superficial cuts, scratches, abrasions, lacerations, and open wounds.
  • Post-Surgical Use: Application on surgical sites, such as after castration, tail docking, or dehorning, to prevent infection and aid healing.
  • Foot and Hoof Care: Treatment of foot rot, interdigital infections, and ulcers between the feet.
  • Skin Diseases: Management of dermatitis and other general skin infections.
  • General Antiseptic Use: Treatment of teat infections and open abscesses. 

ADMINISTRATION

  • Prepare the Area: Clean the wound by removing dirt, pus, or dead tissue.
  • Shake Well: Shake the aerosol can thoroughly before use.
  • Apply: Hold upright and spray from a distance of 15-30 cm (about 6-12 inches) for 2-3 seconds, ensuring even coverage.
  • Frequency: Apply once or twice daily, or as directed by your vet, until healed.
  • Caution: Avoid getting the spray in the animal’s eyes.
