Elanco ByeMite (Phoxim) is a premise treatment for red mites (Dermanyssus gallinae) used in laying hen and pullet breeding spaces. Applied to cages, equipment, and nesting areas using a spray to control red mites that attack the birds. Not applied directly to the birds. An FAO/WHO Veterinary Medicine.

Phoxim is a coarse spray concentrate indicated for the control of external parasites in animal cages, posts, feed troughs, and laying nests.

INDICATIONS

– Psoroptes, Sarcoptes, and Chorioptes mites (which cause scabies or mange).
– Biting and sucking lice.
– Sheep keds.
– Ticks.
– Flies and fly maggots present in wounds.
– Nasal bots.
– Fleas in certain contexts like premises treatment.
– Dermanyssus gallinae (poultry red mite) in laying hens, via treatment of their environment.

ADMINISTRATION

Mix the emulsion: Dilute the concentrate with water according to the manufacturer’s instructions on the label.
Wear protective gear: Before applying, put on a full face mask with an A2P3 filter, nitrile gloves, and a protective suit.
Avoid direct contact: Do not allow the product to contact your skin during or after application. If accidental skin contact occurs, wash immediately with soap and water.
Repeat treatments: Follow the label for re-application intervals, which may be as needed, or after a set period.
