INDICATIONS

• Respiratory tract infections, such as pneumonia and bronchopneumonia.
• Urinary tract infections.
• Skin and soft tissue infections.
• Bone and joint infections.
• Intra-abdominal infections, including peritonitis and biliary tract infections.
• Systemic infections, such as septicemia (bacterial blood poisoning).
• Meningitis (infection of the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord).
• Genital and urogenital tract infections, including metritis and vaginitis.
• Mastitis.
• Surgical prophylaxis (pre-operative administration to prevent post-operative infections). 

ADMINISTRATION

• Reconstitution The product typically comes as a dry powder in a vial and must be reconstituted with sterile water for injection immediately before use.
• Site and Volume
  • For intramuscular injections, the solution should be injected deeply into a large muscle mass. To minimize discomfort, large doses may be divided and injected at multiple sites.
  • Intravenous injections should be administered slowly, often over several minutes or as an infusion over 30 minutes or more.
• Compatibility Warnings Diluents or solutions containing calcium (such as Ringer’s solution or Hartmann’s solution) should never be used with ceftriaxone and sulbactam due to the risk of dangerous precipitation.
