Framixin H Antibacterial Ointment

Dechra's Framixin H antibacterial ointment is used to treat superficial bacterial infections of the eye or ear in dogs, cats, horses, cattle, and sheep. Applied topically to the affected eye or ear to treat infections caused by bacteria susceptible to its active ingredients. A WOAH Veterinary Medicine.

Framixin is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections in the eyes and ears of a variety of animals.

INDICATIONS

Bacterial conjunctivitis (inflammation of the conjunctiva in the eye)
Otitis externa (inflammation of the external ear canal)
Superficial bacterial infections around the eyes and ears
Post-surgical bacterial infections involving the eye or ear
“Pink eye” (infectious bovine keratoconjunctivitis) in livestock, when caused by a bacterial infection

ADMINISTRATION

Wash Hands: Always start with clean hands.
Position Pet: Have animal sit or lie down. For dogs, you can stand behind them and tip their head up.
Create Pocket: Use one hand to pull down the lower eyelid to form a small pocket.
Apply Ointment: Squeeze a 1/4-inch strip of ointment into the pocket, ensuring the tube tip doesn’t touch the eye.
Spread: Gently close the eye and let the warmth of the eye spread the ointment.
