FRAMIXIN Antibacterial Ointment

Dechra's FRAMIXIN antibacterial ointment is used to treat superficial bacterial infections of the eye or ear in dogs, cats, horses, cattle, and sheep. A WOAH Veterinary Medicine.

Dechra’s FRAMIXIN antibacterial ointment is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections in the eyes and ears of a variety of animals.

INDICATIONS

  • Bacterial conjunctivitis (inflammation of the conjunctiva in the eye)
  • Otitis externa (inflammation of the external ear canal)
  • Superficial bacterial infections around the eyes and ears
  • Post-surgical bacterial infections involving the eye or ear
  • “Pink eye” (infectious bovine keratoconjunctivitis) in livestock, when caused by a bacterial infection 

ADMINISTRATION

  • Wash Hands: Always start with clean hands.
  • Position Pet: Have animal sit or lie down. For dogs, you can stand behind them and tip their head up.
  • Create Pocket: Use one hand to pull down the lower eyelid to form a small pocket.
  • Apply Ointment: Squeeze a 1/4-inch strip of ointment into the pocket, ensuring the tube tip doesn’t touch the eye.
  • Spread: Gently close the eye and let the warmth of the eye spread the ointment.
