SAVA DOXYPET MONO injection is an antibiotic used for severe vector-borne and protozoal diseases in dogs.
INDICATIONS
- Vector-Borne Diseases:
- Ehrlichiosis: A common tick-borne bacterial infection.
- Anaplasmosis: Another tick-transmitted infection.
- Lyme Disease: Caused by the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi.
- Leptospirosis: A serious bacterial disease that can affect multiple organs.
- Protozoal Infections:
- Babesiosis: A tick-borne disease that attacks red blood cells.
- Haemobartonellosis: Also known as feline infectious anemia (Mycoplasma hemofelis).
- Respiratory & Systemic Infections:
- Pneumonia & Bronchitis: Treatment of severe respiratory tract infections.
- Kennel Cough: Caused by Bordetella bronchiseptica.
- Secondary Infections: Often used to prevent or treat secondary bacterial infections in animals with viral diseases like Canine Parvovirus.
ADMINISTRATION
DOXYPET MONO injection is administered to dogs via slow intravenous (IV) injection.
- Method: Slow Intravenous (IV) infusion to avoid potential adverse effects.
- Usage: Used to treat infections like Ehrlichiosis, Leptospirosis, and protozoal infections when oral treatment is not possible.
- Preparation: Usually supplied as a powder to be reconstituted with provided Water for Injection (WFI) and Ascorbic acid.
- Dosage: The recommended dose is 5mg per kg of body weight daily.
