JPD Aquatic Oxolinic Acid Suspension 50 "Riken" is an antibiotic used in aquaculture for treating bacterial infections in ornamental fish. Used to treat bacterial infections like fin rot, mouth rot, and ulcers in Koi and other pond fish.

JPD Aquatic Oxolinic Acid Suspension 50 “Riken” is an oral suspension used to treat bacterial diseases in fish.

INDICATIONS

  • Bacterial Infections: Primarily used for bacterial infections where the pathogen is sensitive to oxolinic acid.
  • Fin, Tail, & Mouth Rot: Effective against bacterial causes of these common fish ailments.
  • Ulcers: Helps treat open wounds and ulcers on fish.
  • Mortality Reduction: Aims to decrease death rates in fish populations affected by susceptible bacteria. 

ADMINISTRATION

  • Medicated Food (Oral):
    • Mix the suspension with floating Koi food (e.g., 2 teaspoons per pound of food).
    • Feed this medicated food to the fish for 14-21 days.
    • This method ensures the antibiotic is ingested directly by the fish.
  • Medicated Bath (Water Treatment):
    • Can be added directly to the aquarium or pond water, often with a complete water change before each treatment.
    • Dose is often specified as a small amount per volume of water (e.g., 1/4 teaspoon per 30 gallons).
