INDICATIONS

• Dogs and Cats:
  • Respiratory Tract: Used for bronchitis, pneumonia, sinusitis, and chronic upper respiratory infections.
  • Dermatological: Treats skin and soft tissue infections, including pyoderma, abscesses, and infected wounds.
  • Parasitic/Protozoal: In combination with other drugs, it treats tick-borne diseases like babesiosis (in dogs) and cytauxzoonosis (in cats). It is also used for cryptosporidiosis and toxoplasmosis.
  • Urogenital & Gastrointestinal: Prescribed for cystitis, pyelonephritis, enteritis, and colitis.
  • Ear and Dental: Indicated for otitis externa (ear infections) and periodontal disease.
  • Specialized Uses: Used for Bartonellosis (Cat-Scratch Disease) and treating gingival hyperplasia caused by cyclosporine.
• Horses (foals):
  • Primarily used for treating Rhodococcus equi infections, which cause severe bacterial pneumonia.

ADMINISTRATION

• Dosing: Shake the suspension well before each use. Use a calibrated oral syringe to measure the exact dose; household spoons are not accurate enough.
• Administration: The suspension can be given directly into the pet’s mouth, or mixed with a small amount of food to help prevent stomach upset and ensure they take the full dose. The oral suspension is preferably given on an empty stomach for better absorption, but with food is acceptable if stomach upset occurs.
• Duration: Finish the entire course of treatment as prescribed, even if your pet seems better, to prevent the infection from recurring or developing antibiotic resistance.
