Diflox Oral Liquid (Difloxacin) is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic indicated for use in poultry and dogs against bacterial infections.

INDICATIONS

• Indications for Poultry (Chickens and Turkeys)
  • Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD/CCRD): Treatment of infections caused by Mycoplasma gallisepticum.
  • Colibacillosis: Infections caused by sensitive strains of Escherichia coli.
  • Pasteurellosis: Infections in turkeys caused by Pasteurella multocida.
  • Other infections: Bacterial infections caused by Salmonella spp., Staphylococci, Haemophilus, and Chlamydia psittaci. 
  Indications for Dogs 
  • Skin and soft tissue infections: Superficial pyoderma caused by Staphylococcus intermedius.
  • Urinary tract infections (UTIs): Acute, uncomplicated UTIs caused by Escherichia coli or Staphylococcus spp.
  • Respiratory infections: Pneumonia or bronchitis. 

ADMINISTRATION

• Preparation: The medicated water should be prepared fresh daily.
• Restrictions: No other water source should be available during the treatment period.  

1. Preparation: Shake the bottle well before use. Draw the prescribed amount into an oral syringe (without a needle).
2. Positioning: Gently hold the pet’s muzzle or head. For cats, wrapping them in a towel may help.
3. Insertion: Place the tip of the syringe into the side of the mouth, just behind the canine teeth.
4. Dispensing: Slowly squirt the liquid onto the back of the tongue. Avoid tilting the head too far back, as this can lead to the animal inhaling the liquid into their lungs.
5. Swallowing: Hold the mouth closed and gently stroke the throat to encourage swallowing.
