INDICATIONS

• Horses:
  • Androgenic Deficiency: Used as an aid for castrated racehorses with hormone deficiencies.
  • Performance/Conditioning: Treatment for geldings exhibiting muscle weakness, poor appetite, or a lack of competitive spirit.
  • Mares: Used to treat excessive estrus (heat cycles).
• Dogs:
  • Hormone Restoration: Often used in neutered or spayed dogs to address “spay-neuter syndrome,” which includes symptoms like lethargy, loss of muscle mass, and behavioral changes such as increased fear or anxiety.
  • Musculoskeletal Support: Indicated for dogs with arthritis, hip dysplasia, muscle atrophy, and degenerative joint disease to improve mobility and quality of life.
  • Urinary Health: Sometimes used to manage certain types of urinary incontinence related to hormone deficiency.

ADMINISTRATION

• Intramuscular (IM): Deep injection into a large muscle (e.g., gluteal, thigh).
• Subcutaneous (SC): Injection into the loose skin, often between shoulder blades or in the thigh, used for some formulations or for easier at-home administration. 

1. Preparation: Prepare the correct dose in a syringe.
2. Site Selection: Choose a muscle (IM) or loose skin (SC), often after disinfecting the area.
3. Injection: Insert the needle, pull back slightly on the plunger (aspirate) to check for blood (if blood appears, reposition).
4. Administration: Slowly depress the plunger to inject the medication.
5. Post-Injection: Withdraw the needle smoothly, dispose of it in a sharps container, and gently rub the area to help distribute the solution.
