Alembic TikFle (fluralaner) is a veterinary parasiticide used primarily for the treatment and prevention of tick and flea infestations in dogs.
INDICATIONS
- Flea Control: Kills adult fleas (Ctenocephalides felis) and prevents flea infestations.
- Tick Control: Kills and prevents infestations of various tick species, including:
- Black-legged tick (Ixodes scapularis)
- American dog tick (Dermacentor variabilis)
- Brown dog tick (Rhipicephalus sanguineus)
- Lone star tick (Amblyomma americanum)
- Mange Treatment: Effective in the treatment of Demodectic (Demodex spp.) and Sarcoptic (Sarcoptes scabiei) mange in dogs.
- Flea Allergy Dermatitis (FAD): Acts as part of an integrated strategy for the treatment and control of Flea Allergy Dermatitis.
- Duration of Protection: Provides long-lasting, rapid action, often protecting for up to 12 weeks with a single dose.
ADMINISTRATION
- Method: Administer orally.
- Feeding: Can be given with food.
- Administration based on Weight: Dosage is determined based on the dog’s body weight, with specific, appropriate tablet sizes used for different weight ranges.
- Frequency: Generally administered at appropriate intervals, such as 8 weeks.
- Precautions:
- Do not use in puppies under 8 weeks of age.
- Do not use in puppies weighing less than 2 kg.
- Do not use in patients with pre-existing liver or kidney conditions.
- Do not use in patients with cancer.
- Generally safe for breeding, pregnant, and lactating animals.
