  • Routine Prevention in Endemic Areas: Vaccinating young calves between 3 and 9 months of age is strongly recommended.
  • Protection of Susceptible Animals: Used for cattle being moved from tick-free areas into “blue tick” infested regions where the risk of exposure to B. bigemina is high.
  • High-Value Livestock Protection: Indicated for protecting valuable animals such as herd or stud bulls.

    • Thawed vaccine cannot be refrozen.
  • Hygiene: All injection apparatus must be sterilized, and a new, clean, sharp needle should be used for each animal to prevent contamination and disease transmission.
  • Monitoring: Animals must be monitored for 5-21 days post-vaccination for any reactions and treated accordingly.
