HIPRA NASYM Vaccine

HIPRA NASYM is a live, intranasal and intramuscular veterinary vaccine used to actively immunize cattle against Bovine Respiratory Syncytial Virus (BRSV). Reduces respiratory clinical signs, lung lesions, and virus shedding in calves. A WVA Veterinary Medicine.

HIPRA NASYM is a live attenuated vaccine for cattle designed to actively immunize against Bovine Respiratory Syncytial Virus (BRSV).

INDICATIONS

  • Primary Indication: Reduction of respiratory clinical signs and virus shedding caused by BRSV.
  • Onset of Immunity: 21 days after a single nasal dose.
  • Administration Routes:
    • Nasal (Intranasal): 1 ml in each nostril (2 ml total) for calves from 9 days of age.
    • Intramuscular: 2 ml injection for calves from 10 weeks of age (two-dose schedule required).
  • Duration of Immunity: 2 months post-vaccination, with recommendations for revaccination.
  • Safety: The vaccine is effective in the presence of maternally derived antibodies (MDA).

ADMINISTRATION

  • Intranasal (IN) Route (Primary Protection): For calves from 9 days of age. Spray of the reconstituted vaccine into each nostril using an applicator.
  • Intramuscular (IM) Route (Alternative/Boosters): For cattle from 10 weeks of age. Administer a single injection into the muscle.
  • Combined Protocol: Intranasal vaccination at 9 days, followed by an intramuscular booster 2 months later provides up to 8 months of immunity.
  • Reconstitution: The freeze-dried vaccine must be mixed with the provided solvent. Shake well to ensure a homogeneous, slightly yellowish suspension before use.
  • Precautions: Use sterile needles/syringes and a new applicator for each animal to avoid contamination.
