Bioveta KOLIBIN RC Neo is an inactivated emulsion vaccine for cattle used for the active immunization of pregnant heifers and cows.

INDICATIONS

  • Targeted Diseases: Prevention of diarrhea and scours in newborn calves caused by Rotavirus, Coronavirus, and enteropathogenic E. coli strains (specifically containing F5/K99 adhesin).
  • Mechanism: When pregnant cows/heifers are vaccinated, they produce high levels of antibodies (IgG1) that are transferred to the calf through colostrum and milk, providing local protection in the gut.
  • Protection Duration: Calves fed with colostrum from vaccinated dams are protected for the first 2–4 weeks of life.
  • Vaccination Schedule: Administered to pregnant animals to boost immunity, typically twice in the last trimester (7–5 weeks and 4–2 weeks before calving) or as a single booster in previously vaccinated animals.

ADMINISTRATION

  • Method: Intramuscular (i.m.) injection, usually into the gluteal muscles.
  • Dosage: A single 2 ml dose.
  • Vaccination Protocol:
    • First-time or pregnant heifers: Two doses, 21 days apart, with the second dose given 4–2 weeks before expected calving.
    • Subsequent calvings: One dose (revaccination) is given before each next calving.
  • Calf Protection: Calves must consume sufficient colostrum from the vaccinated dam for the first 2–3 weeks of life.
  • Storage: Store in a refrigerator and protect from frost.
