Dicloxacillin (component)

Amoxycillin & Dicloxacillin injection is a combination antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections in dogs, cats, cattle, and horses.

Respiratory Tract Infections: Including bacterial pneumonia, bronchitis, and acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis.
Skin and Soft Tissue Infections: Such as cellulitis, abscesses, infected wounds, impetigo, and furunculosis.
Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs): Including pyelonephritis and infections caused by E. coli or Proteus mirabilis.
Gastrointestinal Infections: Such as shigellosis, typhoid fever, and other Salmonella infections.
Bone and Joint Infections: Including osteomyelitis and septic arthritis.
Systemic Infections: Such as bacterial meningitis and endocarditis.
Pre- and Post-op Surgical Management: To prevent or treat surgical site infections.

Reconstitute with sterile water just prior to use. It is typically given by a veterinarian in a clinic setting, although some forms may be administered by trained livestock personnel.
Small Animals (Dogs/Cats): Often administered at a dose of 15–25 mg/kg body weight, typically given by IM or IV routes for 3-5 days.
Large Animals (Livestock): Usually 5-10 mg/kg body weight via IM or IV for 3-5 days.
Intramuscular injections should be given in a large muscle mass.
Crucial Note:Must not be given in a vein (IV), as this can cause death. Ampicillin Sodium is generally safe for IV use.
