Ketoprofen Injection

Pharmax Ketoprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug used to alleviate pain, inflammation, and fever in horses, cattle, and swine. Used to relieve pain, tenderness, swelling, stiffness caused by osteoarthritis, and visceral pain associated with colic. A WVA Veterinary Medicine.

Pharmax Ketoprofen is a non-steroidal, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic drug used to alleviate pain, inflammation, and fever in horses, cattle, and swine.

INDICATIONS

Horses

  • – Alleviation of inflammation and pain associated with musculoskeletal disorders (such as lameness of traumatic origin, arthritis, osteitis, tendonitis, and laminitis).
  • – Symptomatic analgesic treatment of colic (abdominal pain). Due to its potent analgesic effect, it may mask signs of a condition requiring surgical correction, so a veterinarian must monitor the animal closely.
  • – Symptomatic treatment of fever.
  • – Alleviation of post-surgical inflammation and pain. 
Cattle
  • – Control of fever (pyrexia) associated with Bovine Respiratory Disease (BRD),  when used in conjunction with appropriate antimicrobial therapy.
  • – Alleviation of fever, pain, and inflammation associated with acute clinical mastitis.
  • – Treatment of inflammation, pain, and fever associated with other conditions, which may include udder edema, downer cow syndrome, arthritis, and traumatic musculoskeletal injuries. 
Swine
  • – Treatment of fever and inflammation associated with respiratory infections.
  • – Supportive treatment of Mastitis Metritis Agalactia (MMA) syndrome in sows, when used with appropriate antimicrobial therapy. 

ADMINISTRATION

  • – Horses: Administration is typically by intravenous (IV) injection once daily for up to five days. Intra-arterial injections must be avoided.
  • – Cattle: The injection is given by either intravenous (IV) or subcutaneous (SC) injection once daily for up to three days.
  • – Swine (Pigs): Administration is a single deep intramuscular (IM) injection.
