Pharmax Ketoprofen is a non-steroidal, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic drug used to alleviate pain, inflammation, and fever in horses, cattle, and swine.
INDICATIONS
Horses
- – Alleviation of inflammation and pain associated with musculoskeletal disorders (such as lameness of traumatic origin, arthritis, osteitis, tendonitis, and laminitis).
- – Symptomatic analgesic treatment of colic (abdominal pain). Due to its potent analgesic effect, it may mask signs of a condition requiring surgical correction, so a veterinarian must monitor the animal closely.
- – Symptomatic treatment of fever.
- – Alleviation of post-surgical inflammation and pain.
Cattle
- – Control of fever (pyrexia) associated with Bovine Respiratory Disease (BRD), when used in conjunction with appropriate antimicrobial therapy.
- – Alleviation of fever, pain, and inflammation associated with acute clinical mastitis.
- – Treatment of inflammation, pain, and fever associated with other conditions, which may include udder edema, downer cow syndrome, arthritis, and traumatic musculoskeletal injuries.
Swine
- – Treatment of fever and inflammation associated with respiratory infections.
- – Supportive treatment of Mastitis Metritis Agalactia (MMA) syndrome in sows, when used with appropriate antimicrobial therapy.
ADMINISTRATION
- – Horses: Administration is typically by intravenous (IV) injection once daily for up to five days. Intra-arterial injections must be avoided.
- – Cattle: The injection is given by either intravenous (IV) or subcutaneous (SC) injection once daily for up to three days.
- – Swine (Pigs): Administration is a single deep intramuscular (IM) injection.
