Kriptazen (halofuginone) is used in newborn calves to prevent or reduce diarrhea caused by Cryptosporidium parvum, a parasite that can lead to cryptosporidiosis. Targets this specific parasite, and is administered orally to calves within the first 24-48 hours of life. Used to prevent the onset of diarrhea and reduce its severity.
