KEMIN’s MEVAC LSD is a live attenuated vaccine used for the active immunization of cattle against Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD).

INDICATIONS

  • Target Species: The vaccine is specifically formulated for cattle. Large-scale emergency programs have also targeted buffalo.
  • Adult Cattle: All adult animals in a herd should be vaccinated to ensure widespread protection.
  • Calves:
    • From vaccinated cows: Should be vaccinated at 3 months of age.
    • From unvaccinated cows: Can be vaccinated at any age.
  • Pregnancy: The vaccine is indicated as safe for use during all stages of pregnancy

ADMINISTRATION

  • Dosage: 1 mL per animal.
  • Route: Subcutaneous (SC) injection.
  • Site: Neck region.
  • Preparation: Reconstitute the lyophilized (freeze-dried) pellet with the provided sterile diluent, mixing thoroughly.
  • Equipment: Use sterile needles and syringes (e.g., 16-gauge,

    inch).

  • Stability: Use the entire contents of the vial immediately upon opening.
